This is your best New York picture I think! Perfect work!

Thanks Nicolas and Kojak, very much appreciated!
I have to admit, this took a couple of tries to get right, but when it happens, it pays off :) I'm quite happy with it myself.
(I took it at 15s exposure and about 5x zoom, and as I'm sure you're aware, it can get quite windy up there... and the slightest movement makes it completely useless of course.)

This is amazing, looks like the streets arround the building are on fire.

Great shot! I saw the flatiron building from a distance when I was walking around at street level. I didn't realize that you could see it from the top of the Empire State Building. I didn't have time to stay up for any night shots.
Your picture from high above is perfect for showing that building's features. I like the way the golden streets wrap-around.

Thanks scenicplaces! (and sorry for the late reply, it's been kinda busy here the last couple days)
Too bad you didn't have time to stay up there for night shots, I wonder what kind of pics you would make considering your very nice collection!

Or perhaps it is just a shared eye for a dramatic photograph. Congratulations on the amazing sharpness you acheived here!

Haha, that is pretty funny, Pennington, although I really hadn't seen that one before!

Lots of great New York City pictures on your pages. I think I agree with Kojak that this is your best of that grouping. Great lighting, depth and drama.
I just finished reading a best-seller from a couple of years ago, The Devil in the White City" which chronicles the building of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair (non-fiction).
In it I learned that the man who singularly pulled that exposition together and held it so, architect Daniel H. Burnham, also gave New York the Flatiron Building.
That's a great corner in New York. That clump of trees in the lower left is Madison Square Park, site of the original MS Garden. Lot's of photo ops around there.
Ah, but I ramble. Grat shot.

Hello Hank, thank you very much for visiting and commenting the Flatiron building! I think this is my favourite too, although it's very close with my taxi shot. I have this one hanging on my wall back in Holland.
Interesting stuff you mention there. Didn't know the architect also did the Chicago World's Fair.
Regards from Toulouse!
