The village Nucu, from Buzău district, it’s an old place, full of mystery. Who dares to walk on the mountain road will find there the most important caves from Buzău Mountains. Caves, cells and churches dug in rock in the first centuries of Christianity were used as places of refugee and cult. One of the cells belonged to the monk Dionisie, called “Torcătorul” because he used to spin the fiber for his clothes by himself. And because he didn’t like uninvited guests, the monk made the entrance to his cell even more difficult to reach.
