This was a wonderful place to spend the summer or a summer vacation until a man named Christopher Layton bought it and decided to make it a 'shanty'. Most of the summer people have gone along with their trailers, few families rent cabins during the summer. The hall where there was bingo, square dancing, games, movies, talent shows during the summer nights is hardly what it was. It has become a sad place where memories can only live on by those who experienced this great place in its day. But there is always hope that the pendulum will swing back.

Thank you Anna for that comment. We shall always hope. He can't take our memories from us.

I remember all the kids at school when I was a teen talk about Pine Grove and I always wondered what it was. Later in life I saw it. I would like to see a really nice campground put in. We always have family and friends ask if there is somewhere they can camp at Cobb.

Pine Grove does have a place to camp, but the owner has let this place fall down. 2 1/2 miles down the road is the camp ground at Beaver Creek. (I don't know why they call it that because it's on Kelsey Creek.)

My grandparents owned it, we lived in the 2 story house next to the store/hall.AT 4yrs of age i was quenn of the WHOLE place, meaning candy & ice creams galore.I went to the little red school house, middletown, kelsyville, and explored everywhere.I just started reading the latest news..i hope it has a happy ending.Where's my winnning lottery numbers when i need em..
