Celso..I can see the link here but the mythological abutments were far grander than these ageing structures..They have stood the test of time despite constant pounding from the volatile North Sea..However, such is their disrepair, the are in danger of being breached..Millions of ££££ are required to fix them..This will happen soon I hope ;>) Your visit and good comment is much appreciated ;>)

pedrocut---Many thanks for the enjoyable link here Peter..Now, the fishing fleet is virtually dead and the harbour is empty!

ian1949~~~The platform you referred to is deployed to carry out important repairs on the East pier extension which is crumbling away at its southern end! I note that several steel piles have been driven into the rock. Eventually, these piles will form the basis of a reinforced concrete plinth which will be completed during the summer of 2011!

Scarulu16~~~That's great Scarulu..you must be relieved to get safely back home to your own pad, put your feet up and chill out for a few hours! When are you due back on the road and where next?
