You are welcome, Fai, to his beautiful part of my world: just an hour from home. Thanks for the encouragement.

I really like both of these waterfall images Ian. This has strong lines with great colour and detail. The falls seemingly coming from the rock is very striking. Well done my friend. :)

Best regards from Virginia,

Tom

Warm greetings, Tom.

I am concerned that your winter seems to be particularly severe. I imagine that you and your part of US are able to cope with your white weather, but some parts of Europe are struggling, including in UK and Ukraine. Kiev's transport system is almost shut down, and areas of the city are without power!

Thanks for your appreciation and assessments on these images. The creek falls through a large drillhole in the roof of the cave, a former lava tube in the basalt lava flows. My son-in-law has a better photo of this.

Appreciatively, Ian

Welcome Jeff, Peter, Simona and Silvy:

I appreciate your visits and that you can enjoy a little of this special place that I can visit easily. If you were ever to come to Brisbane this is one spot I would include in an itinerary!

Thank you for your appreciation, ♥♥♥♥♥, poetic interpretation and amazement.

This is so beautiful, Ian, that I feel sure that water nymphs live here. The Natural Bridge is echoed by the diagonal shape of the mosscovered rock in the foreground and the blackness of the background is enlivened by the delicate backlit green leaves. The falling water is the finishing touch. I love it! ☆ and BO. Theolfa

Ian Stehbens on January 8, 2010

Dear Theolfa,

I am pleased that this Bridge is natural enough to excite your love of beauty. Your critique is very special and your awards greatly appreciated!!

Amazing the contrast from your photo to Michael's in terms of the plant life. Sorry Dad, Michael's still has my vote, plus it hangs on my lounge room wall. Love Robyn

Ian Stehbens on January 9, 2010

No apologies required, Robyn, for Michael's photo has my vote too, and always will. I was surprised that I came back with one so similar for when you are there there are a variety of posibilities and without carrying a copy with me I couldn't recall what his was like, when faced with the complex reality.

But I did come back with a couple of other photos that I am pleased with!

Love Dad

Great composition Ian - love the view point, and only seeing a portion of the fall. Cheers, matt.

Ian Stehbens on January 10, 2010

Thanks for your affirmation, Matt. I am pleased that you like this, for you are a good photographer, especially on composition and selecting elements as subjects. I have reviewed your gallery again this morning and have added it into my favourites. Hope to see more of your work.

Regards,

Ian

This is an awesome composition, Ian. It teases me to want to discover more of the waterfall behind that rock curtain.

I am thrilled that you approve of this image and are teased by the composition. Perhaps it is private area behind the shower curtain, for the nymphs may be at play there!

Thanks for the awards, B@ngkok.
