Lester Pearson College is one of the United World Colleges. These are International Colleges where students come for two years and do the IB program. Pearson College has students on full scholarship from over 85 countries. It is also responsible for the stewardship of Race Rocks 5 km to the South East.

The floating Marine Science Building sits at the end of the docks just down the bank from the college.
