This is a view along Brookvale Road from near the Canal Bridge around 1970, before the M6 Motorway was constructed. The dark building, a Stonemasons, was one of the buildings that were compulsory purchased to provide the route on to Spaghetti Junction which would be the biggest interchange of motorways in Europe.
