Hello Donny, this is some seriously wierd subject matter! Do you know its purpose?

Hello Vicki, this is a mobile phone tower made to look like a tree in order for it to "blend" into the landscape. It is required due to building codes in this region but they are becoming more common all over.

Here are a couple more examples:

In these examples the lighthouse and the obelisk are mobile phone towers. The lighthouse is a little more obvious with the antennae visible. With the obelisk the antennae are concealed inside. Mobile phone antennae are also visible on these churches:

Mobile sites are commonly designed to blend into buildings in this region.

Cheers, Donny

Never seen anything like this :)

Very unusual - like the red marker in the foreground didn't give it away. For a moment, I though you had found some 'black ops' thing until I read the explanation in your post.

I live in the mountains of NC. Perhaps we should also adopt this statute. We do have a ridge law (nothing built above or on a mountain top), but nothing like this!

よく見れば、機器のみではなく枝葉もすべて模造品なのですね。景観にここまで配慮されているのは驚きです。 D☼≈≈YmAc さんに、敬意と感謝を込めて。
