Maxburgh, nice to see you here again! Very pleased that you like this so much to give it a Best of. Thank you very much, Herb

With the typical Riddlean well-tought-out compositions and exceptional atmosphere-creating capacities in mind, I couldn't neglect to comment this one !

Amazing composition! I like the fading silhouettes of the trees in the deep.
You really had a richly rewarded Christmas. :)

Herb Riddle on February 5, 2010

Max and ©polytropos, happy that you like this picture of mine. (a Riddlean perhaps.) yes, I enjoyed our cold and snowy Christmas. I am lucky, as I work in a school and therefore have two weeks holiday at this time. So time for winter photo's. Cheers, Herb

Great work. I love the way the silhouettes of the trees pale out to the back. A YS for this one!

HI Herb thought I'd wonder your winter shots, and this one has jumped out at me(yet again) the mist in the background hides the trees in a way that is magical to me, and the stone building hiding away is a great idea, and to me is a bonus to this image, Herb I take my hat off to you, YSl.

Warm Wishes,

Hi Karen -nice to see you here again. Apologise for late reply -just arrived back from 3 weeks in Cyprus. This is an oldish picture now but I still enjoy it too. This reminds me that I should perhaps go back to some basics and bring depth-of-field back into my photos. Great that you like it enough for a YSL, which from you nowadays is a real honour. See soon, Herb
