This is exactly the kind of opinion I really deeply disagree with! HDR should be just whatever the user wants it to be! Being creative requires an open mind, and I think such limitations are very castrating and just lead directly to some kind of artistic integrism and "ayatolization", which I thouroughly dislike, because I think this is just art killing! Art, I think, just needs to be nourished with creativity, and that requires liberty! HDR, in my opinion, has a much larger use than just improving the dynamic capabilities of a camera, and can indeed be used to improve the glamorous aspect of a photo.

Sven, I totally agree with you about "overdone" hdr shots. I also find many oversaturated shots, or weird halos, or even bleaked and awfully tonemapped ones on different internet photo sites. However, I think it wouldn't be a good thing to limitate HDR to what it was meant in the first place (dynamic improvement), because this program has such fantastic possibilities in fine and selective microcontrasting: it can improve atmospheres, lights, textures and moods greatly, and why should I deprive myself from that? Because I find many hdr shots overdone? This is not enough a reason for me, even if I do have some criterias of what a "good" hdr shot should be...but these are just my own personnal criterias, and I don't mind if other people have other standards (even though some of them just don't appear to have any!). Moreover, sometimes, hdr shots that I find just fabulous strangely don't fit to my personnal standards, and I nevertheless love them, not really knowing why... but I also like such mistery, because I think if art was totally explanable, it just wouldn't be art.
