This is good! Composition and your altitude perfect for the shot! From a plane or a paraglide? Or did you scramble up to a peak?

It's from a plane, our little Cessna 150. You can just see the tip of the wing at the top of the picture. In the mountains it's hard to take a good picture from a small plane because the wing and strut cut off half your view!

Hi! That is amazing landscape. Do you know how tall those mountains are? Those trees look so tiny compared to them.

Greetings from Finland. Miikka

Actually, I just looked in Google Earth. The mountain in the foreground is at elevation 8376 feet, and the valley floor at Canmore is 4300 feet. Even in a plane, you feel so small in the mountains!

I only noticed that wing after I uploaded the picture and I was actually considering deleting it and uploading the cropped version! But I didn't. :) I'm not that much of a perfectionist!

Thanks for the YS, Brian!

Closest I get to flying a Cesna 172 is Flight Sim. It's views like this that have always made me wish I could fly. Such a fantastic photo and the weather looks perfect for the flight. For me it's Flight Sim and Google earth to see most places like this in world in a roughly generated digital world with the occasional commercial flight to keep the spark alive. I love your aerials, they are all awe-inspiring to me!
