We still have in Portugal some post boxes just very similar, even equal to that one, the ones that weren't replaced.
About the phone boots, we used to have th same only not red, but those ones gone allready.
Yes, there are very, very few old-fashioned red phone-boxes left in the UK also :-( Even less in Scotland. The modern ones aren't nearly so iconic.

Thank you, Ainars! I'm not sure why the booths were replaced with different designs, it may have been to replace the phone services with internet machines or due to the old booths being easily vandalised. They're certainly not nearly as iconic :-(

Thats amazing! I didn't know the design existed anywhere outside the UK. There are very few phone-boxes like that left in the UK but many old-fashioned post-boxes still exist. Alan
