Thanks a lot La Mugna, it's one of my favourites. Would you believe Google Earth rejected it. I can only imagine they thought it was fake. It certainly wasn’t! There was already a path broken in the ice but a very thin layer of ice had formed over it and this is what the swan was pushing through.

I think that they have rejected it because it don't give any information about the landscape...

You could be right but they did select this one and this one, both shot in the same area. Never mind, I'm just happy to share it on Panoramio!

I don't know, it is strange...

Wonderful photo Billy. I like the counterpoint between the geometric, smooth ice and the swan's texture. I notice many of your photos are in the same vicinity...what a keen observer you are.

Thanks again Mary for another thoughtful comment. I’m lucky to live close to Hogganfield Loch which is a public park containing lots of wildlife. :)

Thanks Paula. I wish I had a video of this as it was so graceful as it pushed through the thin ice. :)

This new bridge over the Forth & Clyde canal has been designed to look like a swan in flight.

Ah .. this is lovely picture Billy, they are so graceful both the white and black swans.
Hey, I came looking at your gallery to see whether you had any photos from your trips to Melbourne. Alas non tagged. Was that before the digital revolution? :)! M

Thanks for the nice comment M.
I do have lots of photos from my 1988 & 1990 trips to Melbourne but as you guessed it was before digital photography. I see you have found the one I scanned. Maybe someday I'll scan a few more. All my other Oz posts are from my 2006 visit to Tweed Heads West on the NSW Queensland border.
