Ryan, there may be a different effect, looking at the mountain from below. But go to Google Earth and search with the word Schrattenfluh to fly there, enlargen it and you'll see, that on top of the mountain is a sligthly inclined plain, which has exactly the same karsty surface as the Burren in Ireland. Usually people see it only from below, because the mountain is 2092 m (6863 feet) above sea level. Greetings, May

:) Res, so trifft man sich, wenn nicht in der Landschaft, dann doch auf Google Earth! Das Bild ist von anfangs November vor bald 2 Jahren. Schon markant, unsere Schrattenfluh! Ich habe noch Bilder von der Sörenberg- und Marbachseite aus und immer wieder aus dem Emmental, werde gelegentlich wieder ein paar hochladen.

Cher Domi, merci beaucoup! Ce sont les rocher calcaires, les témoins d'une mer des temps passés. En haut il y a un plateau qui ressemble beaucoup aux roches au 'Burren' en Irlande et pourtant comme au Millau, ce que j'ai vue sur tes photos. Seulement que la végétation est differente.
