fuzzypig, Do you recall if you bracketed the three shots used for this HDR? Or, did you choose three different exposures manually? I've read a ton of material today about HDR and further processing through tone mapping. I could use a couple tips from someone with a little experience in the matter.
Thanks!
Kevin

I auto-bracketed the shots at +/- 2 EV. The alley was very dark indeed and I didn't want to risk touching the camera in any way. I use an IR remote control, so once the shot it set I never have to touch the camera. Exposures were around 8-12 secs each. I use Photomatix Pro (Mac) for blending and tone mapping, then into PS for final cleaning up of noise and bits you don't like.

very good. I downloaded a copy of Photomatix Pro last night (but haven't registered it yet). The software recommended bracketed shots at +/- 2 EV, just as you said. The only photos I had on my computer last night were bracketed at +/- 0.7 EV so I felt the effects of blending were negligible. One last thing - do you find it necessary to make edits to the individual exposures before they are blended? ... anything to gain there?
