The Aalborg Railwaystation was built in 1902. The original station was built in 1869 but was torn down in 1902 and replaced with this. The reason was that the the former station did not have enough space around it for the roads and trafic which was changed due to 4 new private railways going in different directions from Aalborg.

The photo is taken at the John F Kennedys Square (John F Kennedys Plads), named after the 35th president of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

This area is the public transportation center, for trains and busses. From here, busses also go to the airport, located north of the river Limfjorden. Outside the photo on the left, is the Kennedy Arkade, which is a mini-mall, with different stores and a cinema. The bus central is also a part of the mini-mall.

A tunnel goes from the sqaure that leads to the trainstation and under to a park called Kildeparken.
