what would the channel been used for in the front of the pic? ive only just started getting interested in these! after years of playing around them as a child!

Sorry but I don't have a clue I suspect it was something to do with either flooding or emptying the Anti-tank ditch thar ran round here. That pillbox most likly covered a footpath. Check the map I have made you might be able to make more sense of it from that.
