According to Bill: I only vaguely remember the house on E. 13th St. Nanny and Poppy lived there until moving to Beaver Dam Lake on July 29, 1948, I remember that it was 1 year to the day after we moved to East 24th Street. The only memory that I have is of the day Roosevelt died. I was just under 4 years old, and we were at the house on the porch that Holly referred to. Holly came running in saying that the president had died and asking what would happen. I remember Mom answering that the vice-president would become the president. Holly asked who the VEEP was, and Mom didn't know. Until today, I always thought that it was a one-family house. I didn't know about the tenants.
