This photo shows the old Central High School and has been vacant for years. Lamar State College-Port Arthur is in the background. Lamar University and Institute of Technology are in neighboring Beaumont.

Port Arthur does not have a central High School. The schoool pictured is Woodrow Wilson Elementary School and it is no longer a part of the Port Arthur Independent School system. The building now belongs to Lamar University system. .Port Arthur Central High School was the first school built in Port Arthur and was located further west on Proctor street. It no longer exist.
