skida, I'm a sucker for mature forests! Beautiful scenery and a trail I would be happy to explore!
Hi Kevin (You Have Mail!)
This is actually a man-made forest planted in the 50s and 60s, but, I suppose, a forest is a forest! It was good to visit except for the local carnivorous flying beasties.
Thanks for your comments.
Super shot, Keith. Film flexes its muscles here with the dynamic range. The exposure is absolutely perfect.
Thanks whoelius. I was quite pleasantly surprised when I viewed this on the new monitor. I can't wait for the weather to improve (very grey and dull at the mo') as I am itching to get out with my new old cameras.
A great shot, Keith! I think I can smell the old needles (these are conifers, right? :))
Thanks theverbiage. Yes, Kielder Forest is almost exclusively planted conifer which feeds the paper industry (and others).
Mmmm, wonder if my CRAZY TRIKE might like to play there in the warmer weather?
Lovely shot of rippling shadows marra!
This was only about 50 yards from the campsite, Mike, so definitely possible. But the midges!
Mmmm, I know those wee beasties, we used to go camping there at the opening and closing of the site year, just for the hell of it....Oh the freezing cold nights, the wee bitey things during the day, the beer we supped at the pub, the crazy barbies we'd invent just to get the midgies a bit thinner with the smoke you could cut with a blunt knife!
Memories of a second childhood re-lived again and again! (Musta bin mad!)
Beautiful capture. Just love the way the sunlight falls through the trees. I am really enjoying your gallery. Greetings from Germany Beate
Sorry I am late in replying Beate but I thank you for your lovely comment and welcome to me gallery.
That hardest of all things to shoot in....multitudes of light and shadow. This one is sure a winner. Perfectly exposed and I love the lone fern frond shining in the sun. Like!
