This picture is a bit deceptive. This is a solid drop-off shoal which under the right conditions will bend your boat in half at the bottom. Be careful!

Agreed, it is a bit deceptive. I'll post a pic from just upstream, but it could be even more deceptive. The only warning a novice on this river will get is a horizon line across the river indicating a ledge, plus they will definitely hear it!! Class II drop. I've ran it 20+ times with no problems. I think the real danger could be at very low water, at which point it is probably advisable to line your boat down on the right, or take the left chute, which itself can be a challenge. Good floating!
