Thank you Gerry! Yes, I love this place and the view. My next ones will be from the lake of Geneva. May

Margrit Berger on September 9, 2007

I'll postbone the uploading of the Geneva lake pictures then.

Venice is very nice as well, though it might be a little melancholic in November, but a wonderful mystic atmosphere for photos. ;-)

The trail with the Glacier Express must be a wonderful experience, if you get nice weather with it. I haven't been on it yet either, though I know all the regions very well, where it passes.

I think, I would choose September, because the weather might be more stable. In late Winter, there will still be lots of snow in the mountains and in Summer lots of tourists everywhere. :-) May

Hi Gerry, I was twice in your charming country. the first time last year from the 23rd of June until the 9th of July. I flew from Liverpool to Dublin, stayed 2 nights there and hired a car and went all along the coast around Ireland from Dublin to Dublin in nearly 3'500 km. I stayed wherever I got in the evening, mostly just one night. But as I wrote in this discussion I went alone and therefore I concentrated 100 % in the scenery and the people. I met mostly very friendly and interesting people. When I travel I get part of the place and immediately into good contact with most people. I listen to and read in the landscape, what it has to tell, I listen to the whispers of long gone times, of sorrow and joy.

I sometimes had the feeling, that I belonged to those places and I dearly wanted to go back again, so I went this year in June from the 10th until the 24th. This time I flew from Liverpool to Shannon, hired a car and from there I got North, more or less along the coast again up to Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, a bit into Northern Ireland, up to Donegal and then more Inland down to the Counties Limerick, Kerry and Cork to the most Southern-West point of Ireland and along the South Coast and then up to Tipperary and Shannon again. Unfortunately I missed Graiguenamanagh, but who knows, maybe next time. ;-)

I'll tell you some other time about my favourite places, for now, I want to see Roger Federer and keep my fingers crossed. :-))

Oh, Eagle, it's off the beaten tracks I am looking for. Yes, true, the signposts are sometimes confounding, especially when they are in Irish without a translation. I once got terribly lost on the peninsula Dingle, because of this. And off the beaten track in Galway the librarist greeted me in Irish and I answered in English. She changed to English to ask somehow with a tint of reproach in her voice: "Don't you speak Gaelic?" I saved myself and answered: "not yet!" She was very kind and let me use the computer for free without me being a member. :-)

(Psst, don't tell about Roger's secret.)

In Finnland they have the Sauna and the Swiss have bio hay baths and sleep in bio hay beds. ;-)

Nice setting. No mountains like that in my part of the United States, just a bunch of oversized hills. ;0P They tend to look better in the winter though.

Was für ein herrlicher Anblick, May!

Liebe Grüsse, May

Mike, thank you very much for your comment, you are being too modest! :)

I know from your photos and others, that there are beautiful settings in the USA.

Sorry for my late answer! I missed your post before!

Take care,

May

Hello © Swissmay 2,

I was six times to Switzerland on holiday, i think it's still one of the most beautiful Alpine countries. The Berneralps have most impressed me! The Jungfruaregio is beautiful!
