Hello, This is a beautiful island, with beautiful people. I've finally met my cousins from Achill. Peggy

Yes, Peggy, it's beautiful here. I have taken this photo in June this year. I hope to be able to put quite a few more pictures from last year from different points of Achill Island. This one is from the Sound of Achill, a very dangerous place, where many men have lost their life in the sea. There is a permanent lifeguard stationed on Achill Island.
There is a legend around this tower about Grace O'Malley 1530–1603), O'Malley is sometimes known as "The Sea Queen Of Connaught".

Hi, I've been there twice, and can't wait to go back. My family on my Mom's side live on Achill, they are beautiful people, I felt like I was at home when I was there. I met LOTS of cousins Peggy

Peggy, how lovely for you! I can only agree with you and I hope to stay a bit longer next time, when I will be there. I felt at home as well and the second time I went there, they welcomed me, as if I was a dear relative. I am so glad to hear from you. Have you found my picture on Google Earth? I hope to hear more from you!
Many greetings from Switzerland,
May :-)

Hello May, I don't remember how I found your photos, but I am glad I did. I was probably surfing Ireland. I was in Switzerland about 11 years ago or so. It was so beautiful. We took a tour with a Polka band and had a great time. We got stuck up it the Swiss mountains on our tour bus, while we were waiting for a new bus they took off the emergency hatch on the ceiling of the bus, I could not believe how many stars we saw, it was breath taking. Hello Peggy! A Polka Band? Do you mean maybe some Swiss traditional music band? I am glad you've had good weather, when you were in Switzerland and that you liked it in my country.
Many greetings to Cleveland, May

Hello Peggy! What a tour in such a short time! You have seen a lot then. It must be quite difficult to remember in which country you have seen what.
My fotos should soon be available again, so I can continue with the Irish fotos of Achill Island. I'll start posting with some tonight, if everything is OK.
I'll put your e-mail address in my addressbook for later, when I get the time. But I prefer to exchange notes here from time to time, if you don't mind. I never get enough time to answer mails, sorry about it.
Dear greetings, May

Hi May, I am glad you are posting more pictures of Ireland, I have some pictures that I don't remember where I took them. The second time I went, we did a bus tour again, and saw too much. I went with 2 of my sisters, 1 niece, my best friend and my daughter. We had tea and scones, in a wonderful old kitchen. My husband didn't want to come, so it was nice with it being all girls. I understand about the e-mail, it is kind of scary out there, alot of kooks. LOL I just erased my note with my e-mail address on it. I will be checking back to see your pictures. Take care Peggy

Hi Peggy, I am not afraid about people knowing my e-mail address. It's just that I don't write many e-mails because of lack of time, so I thought we could well exchange some notes here, or else you might be disappointed not hearing from me across the e-mails.
I have put some more of my pictures of Achill Island, maybe you remember some places, you have been to, as well.
Kind regards,
May

Domi, merci beaucoup! Ces eaux ici sont très dangereux. Il y a toujours un bateau de sauvetage par-là. La tour a une grande histoire de la reine des pirates 'Grace O’Malley'. Amitiés, May
Cees, thanks a lot! There is a interesting story connected to this tower about 'Grace O’Malley', the Pirate Queen. Best regards, May
