ha! ha! ha! dirty mind? Or misinterpatation at my end? hmmmm???

Mark Highton Ridley on July 27, 2007

tee-hee ;D - maybe a bit of both!

I wonder what faux pas people see when they translate comments into their own language.. I bet it happens all the time :)

BTW Highton i see you draw very well... thumbs up

Mark Highton Ridley on July 30, 2007

Nah, not really. Ages ago I just used to doodle anything, but in the last few years I thought I may as well practice something useful. I started with noses for a couple of years, then mouths and now eyes. Complete faces next!

translation from babelfish:

I like! it is like the eye that everything sees it

Thanks Redi :) It does tend to follow you around as you move - spooky!!

Help me settle on a final title for this image. Which of the three do people prefer?

Self Portrait

Through Many Lenses

Who Does The Eye See?

or the orginal

Taking A Break

Maybe you can say why your choice appeals to you, if you like?

Hi Evangelos, thanks for saying so :) In one job, I worked alongside a cartoonist and he passed on the tip.

When he was at school, all he did was doodle - and then he thought he'd do something useful, so he started doodling cartoons istead of random stuff. By the time he left school he was an ace cartoonist! :)

Very funny!

You ask: who does the eye see?

I ask: whom does it see?

;-)

Reminds me on a soundtrack in "Cabaret" with Liza Minelli: "If you could see her through my eye".

,-)

nice and a bit funny idea!!

Mark Highton Ridley on May 14, 2010

@schwUPPs: I used to be too pedantic and you've spotted a side-effect of my attempts to lessen it! Thanks for the words though :)

Thanks Guia - especially for the dreadful pun!

@vlry - I'm glad you caught that bit of self-reflective humour :)
