Ah Erik, it is the Brits that know best how to count the steps and to decipher which 39 steps so that they may keep their national secrets in tact!

The Chinese philosophers were quite adept at it as well.

But as for you and me, we may live perfectly in accord with your philosophy. Keep valuing the past and visioning the future.

I will certainly try to do so Ian both worlds are equal interesting. It's no good to forget the past and live only for the future, some valuable lessons are to be learned from the past. It's no good to live only for the past for as the future is bright and full of new, exciting opportunities. Not all things were better when we where young!

Not all things were better when we were young! Certainly. And not all things are better now that I am old!

Have a great weekend Erik.

Thank you Changhong Chen. My journey up the Changjiang/Yangtze was certainly memorable. It will always be valued and remembered as a privilege. Thanks for your visit and comment.
