Wonderful canvas and capture !!
Well, I keep looking at it trying to work it out....but as normal I cant, did he just have a prop for you, are you paying him?????? ever how it is done it really is brilliant. Cheers, Dianne.
Thanks Tery and Dianne!
:D Yes - He's my paid assistant! LOL, at least he's got pretty minimal cost of living expenses.
I'll wait a bit before explaining. Let's see how many guesses I can get on this ;)
Might you be so kind as to email the original of this to me, kamalyn? I'd like to have a play with it.
You wanting to use kamalyn's work......well now, I dont quite know what to make of that. :)
Very nice shot. Greetings, Olda
Thanks very much Olda! Hope you're doing well :)
LOL Dianne! Well, to tell you the truth I wonder if he wants to treat it like his Poo Pipe, so that might not be toooo high praise!
who still high praise, I think ;) Can you not work with the reduced size here? (am I right about what you've got in mind?) Didn't take this in RAW, as I sort of stumbled upon it while taking a quick spin by the spot, and I figured I'd go back some time when the foreground was better lit. But I'll send along one of the versions I got of it.
and lolol, I just noticed a seagull in the 'painting' !
You sure got a good one here JLS is here there and everywhere. Hints needed. Careful what who might do....!!! Hi who :)
Need to be able to enlarge.....Is it a statue with his easel?
It looks like a silhouette cutout attached to a home movie screen minus fabric. Whatever it is, kamalyn, the 'painting' is gorgeous, and the whole picture a keeper for me (Before Who gets to it!) ☆ Theolfa
Good one Kamalyn, I assume its a silhouette cut out. We see them around here of cowboys leaning on a post. That's my guess.
I think Cal is right. Very nice catch Kamalyn!
Its brilliant no matter what it is. Cant wait to see what who will do with it. Cheers, Dianne
Whatever it is its brilliant. Hi K. Are you unthawed on the East Coast yet?
Theofla wins for getting the gist of it first! And who, Cal, and Margot got it too. It's an art piece, both the frame and the artist are flat wood, painted black to appear to be silhouettes. It's a great idea! It's too bad it's about an hour drive from home, because it would work best at sunrise, when the sculpture could be seen in silhouette in front of the sun rising over the ocean (and this time of year it would be perfectly aligned with the frame if I were standing more to the right.)
And who did have in mind the cool adjustment to the photo I'd thought he did. His version actually brings to mind a whole series that could be done for this. Thanks whoelius ! though ha-ha, I'm sure my poorly exposed foreground was driving you nuts. But I wanted to keep it dark to work with the silhouette! But it sure was great to see how a poor exposure can be fixed to look natural!)
And of course Thanks to you all Tery, Dianne, whoelius, Theofla, Cal, Margot and marbiz!
Dianne - what's the problem you're having with your browser that you can't enlarge photos?
Not sure kamalyn I had trouble a couple of weeks back, but then it came good, I think maybe you are resizing your photos and you cant get them on large size (cant say I blame you), but I used to be able to use the + - but it now just gives a size that cannot be enlarged from that, Guy's are the same, havent checked many others. Have a great weekend taking lots of grouse photos. D
I caught the idea immediately, kamalyn, and what a cool thing it is. I can see all sorts of possibilities for not only this one (and your sunrise chance) but also with a portable version that you could set up at any likely spot. Your shot of it works really well. I think you balanced the foreground and lighthouse pretty darn well, weighting the better light out at the artist's interest point. A+!
