Haha, absolutely, Roeli! Those people are farmers and the volcanic land of their island are very fertile (as you can see), but not fertile enough to grow coca-cola and chips ;-) ... but I do not think the locals would miss it :-).
Thanks for commenting!
Best wishes

The whole island has a size of approx. 20 x 40 km. By whichj means do people move there from place to place? Maybe I didn't look hard enough but I don't remember to have seen any cars in your photos. Do they walk all the time, are there public transport systems (buses)? Or does every farmer have a donkey to carry the nice vegetables from the slopes of the volcano to the market?
Very likeable, your photo, especially the fresh carrots :-)

Well ... most of people there live happily with little or no money, so they would basically walk most of the time, even (for Westerner) quite a long distances. What you see here is a bi-weekly held market where people from practically the entire island participate ... so now you have a kind of idea. No public transport, of course ... and even if they have some cars, one of my local friends told me there were virtually 0 car accidents as the roads are so bad that people cannot drive fast enough to make an accident :-) You may appreciate the quality of roads there and one of the best petrol stations on the island :-)

Dominik, thank you for the nice photos. Vanuatu is an interesting place and people seem to be happy (happier than us, Westerners with much more). Lovely album.
Greetings, Tamas
