Thanks Roland & Stig -- I actually got out of my friend's truck to take this photo so that I could stoop and photo looking up at them. My friend told me not to do that again, I was a little embarrased but then realized, when we drove just a few yards further and came upon a lion lying in the road, that I was taking a big risk and he was just trying to keep me safe. It's so beautiful in Africa and it's easy to forget it can also be very dangerous. Cheers, Sue

Simply the Great!

OMG "...got out of my friend's truck..." - it's just incredible adventure!

Sue Mecklenburg on May 17, 2010

Thanks Peter you're right, it was a "great adventure" and yes, I actually did get out of the truck to get this photo, and no gun with me or with my friend, so I'm glad that the lion was around the bend and not hiding in the bushes behind me. But on the other hand, had there been a lion or lions around, the Zebra wouldn't have been there lazily watching me. Greetings, Sue

Hi Edward thanks so much. I was out of the truck and sitting on the ground to capture these beautiful animals ... my driver/friend didn't like it that I got out, but sometimes we just have to do it! Greetings, Sue

Hello Sue Mecklenburg !

Sorry, today I have taken the time to look at your gallery more exactly, Sue ! You have many photos which I like very well. I find this picture with the zebras fascinating. Into German there is an amusing question: "Do the zebras have white or black stripes?" :-)) I give for the photo with pleasure a Like and with a Golden ☆ I take it with in my gallery! I take you also on my list "Favorite photographers" !

Many Greetings from Leipzig to Texas of Stolpi

HI Stolpi again, I am very pleased that you are enjoying my photos. As you are certainly aware, some zebras come with strips all the way around and other with strips which stop at the belly. And of course, having lived in Germany for many years, I have heard that rather famous saying about the white or black stripes!! :-) Thanks so much for your like and your Golden which, if I understand correctly means that you are taking it to your favorite photos gallery. You've been on my "favorite photographer" list for some time, I'm honored to now be on yours! greetings from Texas, Sue
