Hi Douglas. I enjoy aerials and this one has me looking in my Road Atlas. Do you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements on your system? May I suggest you try using "Control L" for Light, then try "auto" on this. It will usually simply remove the window grey off the entire image. Sometimes it doesn't work, but you may be able to improve the image using manual adjustments if you have "Photoshop". Hope this is helpful.

Hi Ian,
I already did some optimatisation in Photoshop. I tried what you suggested, but it did not produce any further improvement.
I was surprised when I took a few aerial shots that they came out at all. This one was taken from an altitude of about 36,000 ft and it is surprising just how much detail it contains. I can easily match the field boundaries with the Google Earth satellite image of this area.
I have a couple of other shots of Lochmaben Photo 1 and Photo 2 which were taken from a lower altitide as we came into land at Prestwick airport. These are more detailed and do not show much greying at all.
In future I will take my camera with me when I am flying and take advantage of more gaps between the clouds.

This is a fascinating photograph to a landscape archeologist. It set me looking at a lot of your other photographs. You have a really intelligent eye. You see things most people miss. Your picture of Basel must have been taken at exactly the same spot as i took mine.
Well done!
Nick

Comment by Ian Stehbens: You may not want to relocate your pointer but the sides of your photo when mapped will project back to the SW, even further than I have indicated. It is quite a high altitude image.

Dear Ian,
It mostly makes sense to locate the photo at the point it was taken from. However, there are a few situations, such as this, where following this procedure can be confusing. In this case it makes more sense to me to associate the photo with the most distinctive feature it shows.
