this island was chosen by Fletcher Christian because it did not have a natural harbor. Once the ship wa anchored offshore and it was determined that the island could support life, the Bounty was burned stick and hull to prevent future British navel ships from ever finding the mutineers who now inhabited this island. The mutineers made one fatal mistake, they did not bring enough women from Tahiti. this resulted in fighting between the haves and the have nots.

hey you! I found the island while I was on google earth, looking up the chilean earthquake today and I zoomed into your island. I must say that before today I never knew that it was ever there and have friends in the islands of Hawaii. I have to say that your island is so beautiful and I was wondering if you had heard about the tsunami warnings coming your way. I really enjoy your pictures. I would love to visit your beautiful land. Well best of luck.
