In fact, if you loog on the map, you will see that there's a house in between both posts. There are a few places like this along the border where people lives in between.

At Fort Covington NY/Dundee QC I believe that there are 7 or 8 homes on the NY side (east side of the road) between the two Ports of Entry.

Correct. At Lacolle, it is also the case. But the best example is at Stanstead where many places including the famous Haskell Library is in the middle, right on the line.

CBP has decided to close this Port ef Entry as they were not able to get the needed piece of land to expand. No closure date has been announced yet.
