This low-angle shot was made for another web-site in 2004. For a better picture look here. For a picture of the back of the depot, look here. When I was a preteen in the 1940s there were around six or eight tracks behind the depot. There was an elevated walkway that connected to the second floor of the depot between the flags in the picture. The engines in those days were coal burning steam engines. When a train was arriving we would run down the walkway and lean over the rail where it would pass under us. The black smoke would boil up in our face. Ugh! We learned our lesson for the day but when we would come back again at a later date we would do the same thing again. Those were the days.
