The Island Airport Ferry, may be a thing of the past as in 2012 a fix link- Tunnel - was approved to be build by Toronto.

The digging of the 800 ft long tunnel started in March 2012, each passenger who flies from the airport pays $20 extra, until the tunnel is paid for.

It is interesting that the airport is completely isolated from the city! In Rio, Galeão Airport was in the same situation until 1949. Bridges were built! Like!

The tunnel will be completed next year -2015. Interestingly, the work on the tunnel started in 1935!!, but because of the newly elected mayor disagreed with the project, all work was stopped and the tunnel was filled in.
