Hi 乾龍,
Tampines New Town, is becoming an important suburban town of Singapore. Many of the corporations, including banks, have moved their back office to this town due to the lower rental cost here.
Thanks for your visit.

Hi Ah-Pong:
The term "New Town" in Singapore is used to refer to a sub-urban area that used to be a small village (like Tempines used to be) and was developed to be a sub-urban town complete with shopping centers, market, schools recreation areas. Tempines New Town is linked with down town Singapore with the Mass Rail Transit (MRI). Many of those living in the New Town also work there, send their children to school there. Very convenient, indeed. Its almost like Bangna, Rangsit, Bang Bua Thong, around Bangkok. The only difference is that the new towns of Singapore were planned by the government many years ago, and grew over the years.
Interesting concept.

Congratulations to Singapore. Thailand always lacks visionary leadership like Singapore, you know. Everything is in a mess, socially, politically, economically and whatnot.
