Cool shot Norrel, where's the hot tub?

Norrel on March 10, 2010

That's why I made this picture, Ritva. I only take soul resting pictures.

No, Tery. There is a Matterhorn somewhere in the Alps, but there ain't no Mutterhorn or Mitterhorn. So let's stuck to the Glatthorn.

Dank, John.

There were no hot tubs allowed, Guy. Hot tubs melt the snow, and then all that is left is the hot tub. We came here for skiing, not for hot tubbing.

This is sooooooooooo beautiful. I LOVE snow! Is that where you stayed? It looks so perfect.

Storybook land ~ especially with all the brilliant blue skies.

Norrel on March 11, 2010

I took this picture while standing next to our hotel, Laurel. If you give the satellite image a few clicks, you'll see our hotel.

We've had this type of weather for the whole week, joyfotos. It was wonderful.

Lucky you! This is soooo wonderful!

diannemcd on March 24, 2010

Love the photo Norrel are they privately owned chalets, or do people rent them out? Would be wonderful to get away and be on your own. Cheers, Dianne

Norrel on March 24, 2010

Howdy Jean!

Hi Dianne. Some of these chalets are for rent, but a lot of them are privately owned. Farmers do live there in summer, when the cows are in the mountains.

©polytropos on April 7, 2010

In Switzerland we call it "cold beds" when chalets are built only for out-of-town visitors who use them only for a few days or 1-2 weeks in the winter. It becomes a big problem in several tourist orientated areas as Grindelwald, Zermatt, St. Moritz, aso.
But a soul resting pic anyway.

tu-quoque on April 11, 2010

Wonderful winter mood!

Norrel on April 26, 2010

I can't afford a cold bed, polytropos, I have to stay in hotels.

Thanks for visiting, tu-quoque.

©polytropos on April 26, 2010

Maybe it's not a question of "afford" but a question of "comfort" ... depending on the stars of the hotel you have chosen.

Absolutely beautiful scene, Norrel, especially when zoomed! I give it a BOP and ✩ Cheers! Theolfa
