I was on a route march from Lanet towards Lake Nakuru. I had been in Kenya only 5 days. I saw the rim of the lake Pink. I assumed it was from the salts in the water. Very strong colour. Other soldiers were equally impressed. As we got quite close the whole shore of the lake rose up into the air. Amazing sight! Then we realised .... It was the flamingos. This had to be seen to be believed.
