Very nice, Marilyn! I like the colors: the red sands contrast against the light brown grass. It's a unique landscape! Greetings

Hi Marilyn! A very nice coloured photo. Many green is a little bit special in the Kalahari. A local meant smiling, it would probably lie with the global warming. Nice greetings, Christian

Thanks, all of you. Christian, I don't know whether you saw in a conversation about one of my Sossusvlei photos that we were there in June of 2006, and earlier that year there had been unusually heavy rains and even flooding. Some tourists were disappointed to find things green!

Hi Marilyn I came accross this photo of yours when I was surfing Google Earth and was quite excited because here you were just about 150 Kms from my inlaws' farm in Namibia! It is called Karelsruhe and the turn - off is at Kalkrand to the north of here! Greetings! Johan

Thanks, Johan, for telling me. I'm glad you found it! This is a fascinating part of the country. This was our last stay before we headed back to Windhoek and flew home, so we would have passed by the turn-off at Kalkrand. Greetings from cold Canada, Marilyn
