This church was designed by convict architect, Francis Greenway. It is one of the earliest churches in Australia, being located in one of Governor Lachlan Macquarie's agricultural towns in the Hawkesbury Valley.
The church yard cemetery contains the graves of some convicts from the First Fleet that arrived in Sydney in 1788, as well as those from Second Fleet and many later convict transports, together with many of their descendants.
Robert Forrester, is just one of the First Fleet convicts buried here.
