THere is a mistake This may be a picture of "le Rateau" from near the vilgae Les Fréaux. But is is not the summit of La Meige, 10 km east of that point.

Thanks for your expert remark. I'll change back the name. I always thought the more distinctive of the two peaks was La Meije, considering I took two photo's of it from other sides. By the way: your collection of photo's is the most beautiful i've ever seen on Panoramio. People, go check out Philippe Stoop's photographs!

At this moment I just use a simple Nikon D40 with Nikkor AF-S 18-200 zoomlens, so I don't have to change the lens all the time. On it is mounted an Hoja UV filter. I just take a lot of photographs and most of the times there are some gems in between them.
