These tree stumps are exposed at the lowest tides at Borth Beach. They have been dated to 1500 BC, with some lower down the beach to 3500 BC. They have provided inspiration for the Welsh legend of Cantre'r Gwaelod; the fertile land which lay in Cardigan Bay which was lost to the waves in pre-historic times.
