It is good to see the presentation of this former railway land, Peter. The creation of bikeways along old railway routes has become a valuable addition to urban and rural infrastructure in many places. Is this a bikeway as well as a footpath?

Greetings,

Ian

Hi Ian

I believe that is is an existing cycle track, and that this is part of an overall Plan to link 5 main District Centres of Aldridge, Bloxwich, Brownhills, Darlaston and Willenhall will be linked with Walsall Town Centre and each other. There will also be links from the districts to the smaller Local Centres.

The shot was taken on Tuesday when I took an old friend back to Darlaston, where his grandmother and father lived around 1915. He had not been there for 60 years, and much had changed, but you could still discover relics here and there.

He remembered crossing the bridge when the railway was in use.

Best wishes, Peter
