Beutiful Moskvish, Mine was also 2140 from 80s but the both bumper had a black plastic in the corners. But when I left Cuba, the government law said that I had to "bring" my car to them because is a condition to left, I can not sell to another person. If I didn't do it, I can't left from there. I prefer to bring the car to them and now I have a 2000 Camry. Thanks Rumlin for your picture.

That? And what color?

Logical law. Socialism is like to work in large corporations. The Corporation gives you everything - housing, insurance, car. But sacked, the corporation will take it all.

No, the bumber is metal like the one in the picture, only both corner are black plastic. Mine car was white and to make the maintenance was not easy. Every years for two or three times, the aux clutch pump had trouble with the cylinder, this was the principal problem, sometime we had to replace the graphite clutch actuator. Mechanic yourself the car have to be learn to keep this running, spare parts in Cuba are not found easily.

Indeed - white car. Best color for the hot climate. Clutch pump and graphite clutch actuator - this popular issue.

Clutch pump breaks usually because water got in ball bearing. To the water does not reach the bearing in the clutch has an opening through which water flows when it is necessary to replace the gaskets.

If the opening filled with mud and a opening was closed by the owner, the bearing collapses quickly.

Yes Rumlin. that is the model tha I owned in the past, but white color. To be a Moskovish owner, need to know some mechanical peculiarities of that car, In Cuba, the mechanic person all well know about this car and engine. Of course, ball bearing in the wheels have to be replaced, the brake booster no working fine, brake master cylinder have to be replaced sometimes, clutch master cylinder and the aux pump, all the clutch system and brake hoses, You have to live all the time taking care of different parts of the car, in Cuba humidity is so high and the body suffer a lot with the corrosion. I brought my car less than 100 000 kms of use in more than 10 year, no tires, no battery, no spare parts, no gas, I have to use my bicycle more than the car in the 90s.

pescandell, hi. Original spare parts are not found. And the quality of the metal is bad. But suitable parts of European and American cars. Usually requires a small modification.

For example:

thermostat from 'Mitsubishi Carisma', link

piston rings by american Sealed Power, Federal Mogul, Hastings , Grant

spark-plug

crankshaft, connecting rod, piston from engine Mercedes 102(For UZAM2.0). For UZAM 412 piston from engine Mercedes 111.

gearbox(need to make adapter-plate) from LADA,Ford,BMW.
