No, not Vancouver! These fanciful "buildings" are weirdly distorted mirages of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State in this telephoto image. Late afternoon mirages can often be seen across Georgia Strait.

Unbelievable, Carl, I don't know if I find it beautiful or frightening! I didn't know this existed in your part of the world.

Weekend hugs, Maja

It's only frightening if you let your imagination run wild, Maja! But that's kind of fun, isn't it?:)

Return hugs, ~Carl

That is really wild, Carl! Super image too, you can actually see the yellow air pollution from Vancouver as it has drifted down south. Is that Galiano Island in the middle distance? And now I understand something else. I bet you can see Bowen island from your spot in Gibsons!

Thanks Nawitka - It's quite an amazing phenomenon, isn't it? As for Bowen Island, while it can be glimpsed behind Keats Island from the Gibsons area, seabow is just my initials, CBO :)
