Very nice, Billy. What is he telling us, or is he singing? Greetings, Anne

Thanks Anne. The name of this statue is 'The River God' but I don't know any more about it. I think he may be blowing to give wind to the river's sail boats?
Newcastle is not my city so I'm not too sure about it's history & legends.

This is lovely Billy I hadn't seen it before. I'm told the Quayside is nothing like I remember it any more. I used to see the market every Sunday morning and the ship building (I know that's all gone) but I understand it's all apartments, galleries and cafe's now. I guess all docklands have gone this way over the last few years.

There was a market in this area on the Sunday morning I was there earlier this year. I know it is sad to lose all the industries but it does look nice now. I think you would approve.

You sound like you have a lot in common with Palmina, a Geordie Lass now in Melbourne. She still dreams of the hamburgers & onions on the Quayside. I enjoy hearing you & Palmina reminisce about your home town, it is a place to be proud of. :)

Hi Billy, this is a great shot. I commute over the Tyne Bridge daily and every time I think to myself I should take the time to get out with my camera. There is so much to capture. The 'Winking Eye' is also amazing on a night as it as illuminated in colour. Cheers Andi

Cheers Andi. I managed to get a quick look at the bridge at night but I regret not taking any shots. You should give it a try. :)
