Cliff Railway car arriving

The Constitution Hill Cliff Railway was built in Victorian times,taking tourist to a small fun fair at the top of the hill. It has been refurbished and provides an easy way to get a panoramic view over Aberystwyth and Cardigan Bay

This certainly brings back childhood memories, rather than spend the day with my parents walking the beach and shops etc.

I asked if I could go to the top of the cliffs with my sketch pad and pencils.

To my surprise they kindly paid for me to go up.

My best sketch was not of the magnificent view but of a Norton Motorcycle.

I was only about 9or10 years old….True story, Ray ㋡

I waited years to travel on this. It always seemed to be out of service when I was in Aber. FYI it features in several of the very funny Aberystwyth / Louie Knight novels by Malcolm Pryce

Thanks for the info, I havn't read Malcolm Pryce, but I shall look for "The Day Aberystwyth Stood Still" the latest addition to his highly acclaimed Louie Knight series.
