Bernd Thanks for the visit & comments & no I haven't be called a fire raiser I think the flame is starting to get a bit low now.As I said before it shows autumn is starting with winter not far behind.I've been looking at your gallery & it's also very impressive in particular your HDR's what programme are you using? They look great.I've been using Dynamic HDR even though there not highlighted you can guess which ones are of that method or pseudo.Greetings from Forster Australia...Brian.

Bernd Lang KN on April 5, 2010

Hello Brian! Fortunately on "the other side of your planet" springtime is beginning ...

As I began creating HDRs i used to overdo a little bit (MediaChance Dynamic Photo HDR-manipulated 'voted-sundowns' allways look the same due to the default templates some guys are using) - Nowadays I prefer to express my feelings at the time i took the picture(s) with moderate manipulations either with manual enhancements or with Photomatix. But mostly its a combination (multiples layers) of both.

Even Hugin & PTGui are capable to create HDRs, but their skills in tonemapping are limited. So it is recommended to save results as Radiance format and reopen them in DPHDR or PM for further processing ...

Happy Easter from Lake Constance, Bernd

Brian Gymer on April 5, 2010

Happy Easter to Bernd well it's Easter Monday 6pm here I'll have a look at the info you've sent later.I've tried Photomatix over here was a bit expensive at the time I tried it,most of my shots only have small manipulations I use filters a lot to achieve an effect as with the one above. Brian.

Hi Brian

Austalia is very high on my wishlist but is very difficult to organise. What would you say is the best season to visit Australia?

Greetings from Belgium - Hans

Brian Gymer on April 8, 2010

Hans,it depends how long you've got I usually travel from March through to October [but I live here],anytime really but you can't do the northern part of the country in summer to hot & wet with the monsoon season.Have a look at the extra info.on my photos for some idea thou I haven't been to the N.T,W.A. don't have a 4wd to get to where I'd like to go,in your case you'd fly & hire transport. Regards Brian.
