When I left Shanghai in 1939 this was known as Nanking Road and then changed its name to Bubbling Well Road where there really was a bubbling well. On Nanking Road near the Racecourse there was the Grand Theatre where movies such as Disney's Snowwhite were shown.

I left Shanghai 1945, haev several old photos "handed" down from family, am familiar with above mentioned names of area , also have old photos and will post here shortly. Please check back as I just found this site.
