Klaus, thanks. Hope you had a great Easter too. Belated wishes.

Joke, he is rather friendly, especially when there are food tidbits to be eaten.

Itallica, his tail should have a tale to tell. ;)

Jethro, You're right, we are having a great Spring, loads of wildflowers this year!

steve, Yes, Spring is very warm this year and much like Summer. Hope your Autumn is just as grand, they are my 2 favorite seasons. :))

By now you must be the most experienced person of the States in frequenting wild raccoon's, Jean! L Do they have their habits such as often follow the same path day by day?

Jean Gregory Evans on February 3, 2013

indri, yes, I believe that the raccoon are creatures of habit. In warm months, the moms seem to visit my yard to get a drink of birdbath water and then rest in a tree for a while. I believe that they are taking a break from the kits that they leave back in their den or nest. Then weeks later on, they arrive about the same time of day, with their kits. Plus they are out and about just after sunset and sometimes I see them along about sunrise. They eat a LOT and if they find a food source, you can be sure they will return. They are very smart and are quite 'handy'. :)

Florentine Vermeiren on February 5, 2013

Thank you so much for describing their habits, Jean! They have a lot in common with lemurs, except that lemurs take their offspring always with them.
