I like the shape echo between the cloud's shadow on the hill on the right, and the twisty road in the left foreground. Nice tonal range as well. Nice!

skida, Very nice photo! I like the balance of the hillside on either side of the photo. The shadows that give way to light lead me all the way across the scene - good job!

Many thanks Melissa and Kevin. I was very fortunate with the light as half an hour later there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The photo turned out better than planned.

Were you on the bike or is that a stupid question Keith? It looks like spring has come to the Lakes - about time I think I hear.

Looks fabulous to me. Nice one!

We were in the car Jethro. The weather is getting better but still too cold for a 4 hour round trip on the bike. I am really pleased with this one as it looked like a failure on the camera screen. Thanks.

Mmmm, I dunno if I'd rate this twisty bit as top terror, or the Wrynose pass twisty bits, I've done both on a bike and in a car, but this one on foot with a backpack is/was a helluva killer after the trudge from Pooley bridge!

Why is it Keith, that only the painfull bits remain tattooed in indelible ink on the distant memory?

You have not only captured the essence of this wee corner of Howtown and its environs, you have evoked and awakened memories from way way back when aa were just a lad!

The photograph is faultless, I'm glad they put a hard surface on the road, when I would walked it there was just a very good unmettalled road, probably serviced by locals! (but that was back in the 60's!) A brilliant view mate, you had a good day and you spent it well!

Your comments are very welcome and bring the scene to life, Mike.

Cheers, Keith

Great landscape shot Keith, it's years since I was in the lakes, must get off my butt and get there to try and take photo's as good as this if I can. Best wishes, Azzy.

Thanks Azzy. It's only a couple of hours away, so you should do it!
