According to the news NS still owns the Lower Boonton Line and a train still runs on this part of the line at least once a month. No way, trees and other foliage are actually growing up right in the middle of the track. NS / Transit had hopes for reactivating the line once the ARC tunnel got completed. NS should just allow this land to be rail banked for rail trail use. A rail trail from Montclair to Secaucus, they could keep the one track for any potential future use and make a paved path where the other track used to be.
This old factory was the original Tiffany (yes, that Tiffany!) factory, and Louis Tiffany himself lived in Forest Hill section of Newark just to the south of the tracks. Later, Englehard Corporation had a presence in this buliding.
Wow cool fact thank you shurelas I didn't know the building used to be Tiffany of Tiffany and Co.
